The future of smartphones is here and it is the Apple iPhone X. This is the most expensive iPhone ever with the price tag of $999 at launch.
Unlike the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus which are just iterative improvements, the iPhone X is a special edition to celebrate the iPhone’s 10th anniversary. Its design, software, and hardware are totally different to previous iPhone generations. Apple removes the iconic home button on the front and now we have a futuristic design thanks to the 5.8-inch edge-to-edge OLED display, a stainless steel frame, and a glass back. Everything is put into a much smaller form factor.

Touch ID is replaced with Face ID by using the TrueDepth camera for facial recognition. The function boasts to be a lot more accurate than face-unlock systems on current Android smartphones. The rear cameras of iPhone X are also better than the ones on iPhone 8 Plus, the telephoto lens has a wider aperture of f/2.4 and optical image stabilization. Some other notable features of iPhone X include Qi wireless charging, A11 Bionic chip, and a slightly longer battery life.
Just like any other iPhone, the iPhone X comes in 3 models for different markets and carriers. We have the iPhone X A1865, A1901, and A1902. The models have almost the same specifications, except that Apple uses modem chips from the 2 manufacturers, Intel and Qualcomm; Therefore, the phones have different cellular bands. Before hitting the stores or placing an online order, make sure to check out all the differences below.

Hello, i live in France and i’m on vacation in Japan soon when the iPhone X is already coming out.
Do you think i use the A1902 in France? Or do i need to buy A1901 to be able to use it in France?
Many thanks for your help!
Shadowelite0523 says
Just as a note for the A1865 model, only the Verizon one will work with Stateside carriers such as T-Mobile or AT&T. The Sprint acquired one and any other CDMA carriers will not regardless of whether they have been unlocked or not. This is confirmed by an Apple representative. The Verizon version of the iPhone is also considered the unofficial factory unlocked or globally unlocked version. This version will work on any stateside CDMA carriers as well gsm ones. Sprint versions do not have this despite having the same hardware. This is due to a software lock that Sprint sets.

The Apple online store require me to choose either AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint or Verizon as carrier! Which carrier do I need to choose … I will pay the phone in full, and I do not want a plan with any of the carriers. Lea says
Hi! I’m from the Philippines. I’ll be traveling to Japan in January and I have some questions since I’m interested in purchasing one (it’s a LOT cheaper there than here in my country):
1. Are the phones purchased in the Apple store in Japan unlocked/openline?
2. Is the model A1902 the only one I can buy in Japan (Apple store)?
3. If A1902 is the only model available, will it work in the Philippines? (According to this: apple.com/iphone/LTE/ the Philippines is using Model A1901 for the iPhone X).
Thank you in advance! :D

Hi,
Can (MQA82LL/A) comes as LOCKED version?
I’ve purchased one iPhone (MQA82LL/A) through the net and while checking the imei status it’s giving LOCKED! Can this be right?
tl says
Yes, I learn the hard way that Xfinity Mobile sell the following “SIM free, unlocked” models but they actually locked them so I could not activate any of them. The only safe way to buy an “SIM free, unlocked” phone is to buy from the Apple Store or by popping a sim in there to check whether it works for you these days.
64GB Silver MQA62LL/A
256GB Silver MQA92LL/A
64GB Space Gray MQA52LL/A

I have the A1901 model that I have from AT&T well I had to get rid of AT&T because of billing issues I knew nothing about any model so I decided to switch to Verizon which I know runs a CDMA network I was surprised to see that my Iphone X A1901 model was capable on Verizon. All I had to do was pay off my phone with AT&T and unlock it with AT&T swap the sim cards out. I am puzzled to see on why I see on your site along with Apple’s official site claiming that the Iphone X A1901 model only works on AT&T and T-mobile I have A1901 model right now on Verizon it is working beautifully and even better than it was on AT&T so someone is putting out a bunch bs about these model phones. Or another thought is maybe I don’t have A1901 I have A1865 and these phones and models are being mis labeled under the wrong category. I think a little investigation needs to be done here I think I uncovered something here. Or maybe the A1901 models really works on Verizon and Sprint as well as AT&T and T mobile they don’t want no one to know it. According to your site along with Apple’s you claim A1901 models are GSM phone models only. That is news to me, I apparently converted a GSM model phone over to a CDMA model phone with Verizon. There is something called IMEI number that is what all carriers use to see if phones are capable. So someone is screwing the pooch here. Look into it or why don’t you test A1901 model phone get it from AT&T try to convert over to Verizon let me know your results. I did it it works!!

I bough 2 brand new iPhone X from Sam club when they closing their store 2 month ago. They told me and I talk to Apple care to double check to make sure my phone is UNLOCKED and there is no carrier attached to my phone. and the answer I got from apple care is YES those phone is unlocked and there is no carrier attached to it.
Why my relative can not activate the new phone in Indonesia ? the message said Sim card unsupported ? and Apple care can not help me to replace the right one ?
Thank you anh TUAN for your reply.
Liem Phan says
I forgot to tell you that I gave apple care the IMEI number and worked with them for more than 2 weeks. there is no hope and they don’t want to help me to unlock my phone. Remember the iPhone X is brand new in the box and the phone has been paid in full.

Is that really true?

I have a question about my iPhone X that I bought!! I bought it in Shanghai, but the model number says is 256GB Silver MQA92ZP/A, and A1865, so it should be for Hong Kong. I wanted to ask if I could use this in South Africa, as I’m planning to go back to South Africa next month? Also is there any way that this phone could be used internationally? i.e. if I were to travel with this phone, like in Thailand, Europe, America, China, South Africa, would I be able to use this phone in any of these areas? Thanks guys any help would be much appreciated!!
