Apple has officially made the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus smartphones available to purchase. Both features a water-resistant body, a new force-touch home button, a cutting edge A10 Fusion chip, a longer battery life, doubled storage and the removal of the headphone jack.
Although the iPhone 7 doesn’t have significant changes, it is still an attractive phone because its size is more manageable. However, if you are really looking for a more high-end smartphone, the bigger iPhone 7 Plus should be your choice. It features a new design with dual-lens cameras, one wide-angle and one telephoto lens. Besides, you will need to choose among color options including Black, Gold, Rose Gold, Silver, Jet Black and (PRODUCT) RED special edition.
That’s not the only choice you have to make. Just like previous years, there are some different models released for different carriers and countries around the world. Therefore, before ordering online or hitting the stores, you should check them out carefully, or your phone might not function properly.
At the moment, we have the following model numbers: A1660, A1661, A1778, A1784, A1779, A1785, A1780, A1786. As Apple uses modem chips from the 2 different manufacturers, which are Intel and Qualcomm, some of the models can’t perform well on a specific carrier network. Notice that the difference between the Intel and Qualcomm modem is quite significant.
You can quickly check which one you get by looking at the box or the back of your iPhone. There are some notable changes as compared to model numbers released for iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. Unfortunately, none of them covers the new LTE band 66 (AWS-3) used by Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile.
Now, let’s see the differences among those iPhone models.

Gromexe says
Not sure if someone mentioned this, or maybe i’m doing something wrong..But I believe this list is missing a few compatible devices per carrier, at least for the 3 carriers that were mentioned.
For example, I have an A1661 with T-Mobile and the model number is MNQH2LL/A which i didn’t see listed unless i missed it somewhere. No biggie, but maybe I’d add this here incase anyone is wondering.
Also, i’ve had this phone active with MetroPCS for over a year now, if that makes any difference. I’d expect this phone model to work for T-Mobile as well, but i am only making assumptions so I could be wrong but if I had to put money on it then I’d take my chances.
However, I will say that i have been having connectivity issues lol. It wasn’t like this in the beginning though. I think MetroPCS is just throttling my usage. I’ll have an “4G” connection at the top for a week and then all of a sudden it displays “LTE”. I honestly feel much slower loading times when the “4G” icon at the top drops. I’ll be contacting Metro for the 3rd time thisbe year about this issue.

I have an Iphone 7 A1660 that i bought refurbished from Wing when I switched to them. It is on the Sprint network. The phone I have’s model number is actually the Verizon version. I have problems with voices being distorted or garbled every few words so hard to understand, but not all calls are like that. Seems more often at my home. I also can go from 1 bar to 2bars to 3bars while laying in the same spot on our couch . Sometimes wont call out if only one bar. Checked Sprint maps and should be good coverage and Wing did a tower check that was fine. It is a remodeled old house built in 1925. Wing said contact Apple and Apple said make an appointment at Apple store which i s 2 hours away. Today on phone with Wing they said that they have had similar problem with customers on Sprint that couldnt resolve. But if I upgraded to a new phone on their Premium ATT network that would resolve all my problems. I need to stick with I phone for my hearing aids. Is this phone having problems because it is the Verizon model on Sprint ? NOt sure what to do! Thanks.
