We’ve seen huge advancements in the robot vacuum world in the last few years. Previously, robot vacuums simply just run randomly around the house but now we can have advanced features like LiDAR navigation, AI camera with object recognition, mopping, self-emptying dustbin, or mop washing or drying. However, believe it or not, many people don’t need those features and a basic vacuum like the OKP Life K2P is more than enough for them.

Features & Performance
After testing some bulky robot vacuums recently, I was quite surprised when opening the box because of the compact design. It is significantly smaller with the diameter of just over 11″ and less than 3″ thick. The K2P comes with a charging dock, a power adapter, 4 side brushes, a spare filter, and a cleaning tool.
Setting up the vacuum is super easy; I just need to plug in the dock and start charging the vacuum before first use. If you want to get access to more advanced features, you should install its companion app. Notice that the QR code in the user guide led me to an OKP app but I couldn’t connect it to this vacuum. Then I found another app called OKP Life and it worked much better. You can use the app to schedule the cleaning process, switch among different cleaning modes, and add the vacuum to your smart home. It is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Home, so you can use voice commands to start or stop cleaning.
While other vacuums use brush rolls with stiff bristles in the middle to agitate surfaces, the K2P relies on the 2 sidebrushes and then uses a suction port to collect all the dirt. In my experience, the port works well on hard floors but doesn’t perform well even on low-pile carpets or rugs. The only benefit of this design is that we won’t have to worry about tangle on the main brush because all hair is sucked directly to the dustbin.
In terms of navigation, the K2P simply uses its anti-collision infrared sensor to detect objects and walls. Therefore, the map generated in the app is inaccurate most of the time, especially when you have some furniture in the room. In my room, there are just 2 desks, 2 office chairs with wheels, 2 area rugs, and a cabinet but the robot already has some trouble creating the map. It follows a zig-zag pattern to create a layout for this room but it fails to deliver. It often takes up to 25 minutes to vacuum my small room This is not surprising as all basic robot vacuums have the same problem. Apart from that, I’m quite satisfied with the battery life and noise level of this vacuum. The dustbin is also quite easy to remove and empty.
At the time of writing this review, the OKP Life K2P is listed for over $250 on Amazon. This is a crazy price, considering that their higher-end vacuums OKP L1 costs less than $200. This is a basic robot vacuum designed for a small room with few furniture, I’ll only recommend it if the price drops to around $100.

I received my OKP K SERIES from Amazon but did not get remote as shown in the picture. I also have not seen it in the videos! Is the remote not needed to operate this vacuum? If so how do I get one without returning the vacuum back to Amazon?

You download the app on your phone. You use a lower frequency wifi band as well.
I love my vacuum.
