Samsung Galaxy S10e is the cheapest model in the Galaxy S10 lineup, however, it is not a subpar phone by any means. In fact, the S10e is still a high-end device in the world of Android smartphones and if you look at the comparison between the new S10 phones, you might be convinced that this is the best pick.
Although this is an affordable version, it features the same Infinity-O design, Dynamic AMOLED display, pro-grade cameras, Snapdragon 855 or Exynos 9820 processor, and even the 8GB RAM option. There are just a few compromises like the lack of in-screen fingerprint sensor (replaced by a fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button) and telephoto lens. Besides, the display of the S10e is flat with slightly thicker bezels and lower pixel density. An advantage of the phone is its smaller size which is easier to handle for people with small hands.
The Galaxy S10e comes in some model numbers starting with SM-G970. By checking the model numbers, you will know where your phone comes from, the chipset, storage, RAM and supported cellular bands. Now, let’s check out all the differences between S10e model numbers.

Hello
Currently here in Switzerland, there are two models to buy:
SM-G970FZKDDBT
SM-G970FZKDAUT
What are some diffrences between those two models and which one is specifically for Switzerland?
Thanks in advance!
Catherine Z. says
Hi I am looking at getting the SM-G970U was wondering about its specs comparatively and if it was a demo unit. If it is a demo unit what does that mean exactly?
Kant says
The last three letters are Samsung Country Specific Code (CSC), ex. DBT is for Germany, and AUT Switzerland. They probably only differ in some languages, or number/date formats. I am not an expert. But I’d get the AUT version if I were you.

My S10e model is SM-G970U1ZKAX. Could not find it on the list.
Carton states “Made in Vietnam”.
Can I use this S10e with Republic Wireless in the US?
CF says
Fairly sure (but not 100% sure), from what I’ve seen, that SM-G970U1ZKAX is the same as SM-G970UZKAXAA (Part number for: US model, Black, 128GB/6GB, Factory Unlocked) as shown in the above list (last section). Supposed to work with all US carriers, though some sales listings state they don’t work with some of the smaller carriers, and I suspect that may due to confusion with the various part numbers and model numbers.

How can I tell my model number for my Samsung Galaxy S10e after I did a hard reset and I need to update my firmware?? Hope that’s right, either way don’t want to turn my $900 into a brick… Please help, I did a hard reset and wiped the cache, and now I have to matchy model number to make sure I don’t mess it up big-time and after doing these steps before I do the download I looked everywhere to figure where to see the model number and all I found was to download this app match up the operation system and other criteria and that would match it up and help determine which model it is, it’s the back is like a dark blueish if that helps you

I have SM-G970U S/N: R338M20LX3KH
rolando says
for what company does the versions SM-G970U1 and SM-G970U work for and are they demo?
CF says
I believe those are Samsung “model numbers’, “U1” indicates Factory Unlocked, and “U” indicates any of the several US carrier versions. The longer numbers in the list above, such as SM-G970UZKEXAA, are Samsung “Part Numbers” describing all the specific features (rather than the more general “Model Number” on the bottom right corner on the back of the box.
CF says
UPDATE TO ABOVE POST: Perhaps G970U and G970U1 are both Factory Unlocked, as shown in the above list.
A chat help on the Samsung.com website just now informed me that the G970U indicates “Factory Unlocked by Samsung”, and that the “G970U1 is AT&T”. They told me that is info “directly from Samsung and not from any third-party”.
In the recent past, I’ve been told the OPPOSITE by other ‘tech support’ at Samsung.com, who also referred me back to Techwalls.com!
So, good luck. I’m still totally confused at those two US “model” codes. Even Samsung themselves fails to provide definitive, clear answers.
I’d like to know: where the good folks at Techwalls got the data in the above chart (for this otherwise useful page)?

I am trying to figure out what Galaxy S10E will work on Visible since they don’t have it in stock. This is what I heard from Visible; “this is the only information I have in regards to that particular device and it’s compatibility : Samsung Galaxy S10e (BYOD compatible as of 2/4/20) This is currently the ONLY model that is BYOD compatible: SM-G970U1”.
What do you think that means for compatibility?
AJ says
My US variant, S10e that I purchased through the Samsung website (Unlocked by Samsung) was listed as SM-G970U1 on the box and had no references to any mobile provider. I installed the T-Mo firmware and it now says 970U and have been receiving T-Mo OTA updates since.

ok folks
i look for a small Samsung phone with dual sim ability where only the S10e seems to come close. not perfect fit because not real dual sim. can use 2 sim or 1 sim and 1 sd.
with 256gb the memory card will be not missing. so… now my question: is there a 256GB version with hybrid sim? in the listing only 128GB versions show hybrid sim.
or what about the 970f/ds? what is its memory? or does the term dual sim mean it is real dual sim plus sd?
unfortunately the listing is not very stringent. some entries show memory some not, some hybrid sim some dual sim.
can anyone help?
my needs: 256 GB of memory (internal or sd) plus 2 sim the same time

I also got a SM-G975U1 – I am in Europe/Austria.
It´s working fine.
I have one issue: *#06# is not giving me the IMEI nr. and *#0#* does not give me the samsung test mode.
Is there a possibility that I have a editet Android version? like a trojan thing?

What S10e model phone comes with a built-in radio app. I know the phone has radio capability, but I do not want to download a third-party app and have to use data to listen to local FM radio. I just want to use a dial-type tuner that can only pick up local stations. The T-mobile model I currently have does not support Next radio. One of the reasons I bought this phone was for the radio capability. TIA.

Hi, I just bought a refurbished S10e SM-G970U — I checked your list and there is no information at all on the G970U. I’m wondering why not? I had no idea there were these different models of THIS model and now I’m freaking out that I might not have gotten what I need. Someone wrote that they can’t get updates??? Seriously? Any information that anyone has would be helpful.
Incidentally, it says “Manufactured in Vietnam”.

Hi – great website, came across it via Google. Anyhow, according to your listing above, the S10e model (SM-G970UZKAXAA) I just bought (Feb 2023) is a US factory unlocked. I am hoping you can help – when I unboxed it all that I found was the phone itself, a SIM tool, and transfer cable or USB connector. But when I check out the S10e Unboxed on Youtube, there’s supposed to be a charger, travel adapter, and headphones. Is this normal that some models don’t have all the accessories? Thank you
