If you have income from Google Adsense and recently moved to a new address, you will have to update the address in your account as soon as possible. Google requires you to resubmit your W-9 form in Adsense account to ensure tax forms will be delivered correctly.
Adsense uses an electronic W-9 form which is pretty easy to fill out. You will just need to go to Payments -> Manage Settings, then click on Update Tax Info under Payments Profile. Afterwards, you confirm your U.S. citizen/resident status, fill in your name, tax identification number, and your new permanent residence address. Notice that once you finish submitting this form, you need to come back to your Payments Profile to ensure that the legal address is the same as the permanent residence address.
Your tax info is now pending verification and according to Google, the process can take from a few days to a week. It depends on when the IRS verifies your information and Adsense doesn’t verify it internally. As long as the payment information is verified before the 21st, your payments won’t be affected. In case the verification is denied, it is recommended to contact IRS to check if your name and tax identification number (like Social Security Number, Employer Identification Number, or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number) are still correct.
I changed my address twice in the last few months and the verification process often completes quickly. A few months ago, it took just 1 business day and this time, it took 2 business days. I also contacted Adsense support and they were really responsive and helpful; They often sent me a reply within 24 hours and it is written by a real person. Overall, everything went smoothly when I changed my address and resubmitted tax info for verification, I have no complaint at all.
