Facebook is certainly a good place to find ideas. But I prefer stumbleupon for exploring wide range of topics.

Another crazy place where I get my ideas for post is in my dreams :)

In reply to Tuan Do. Thanks, Tuan. The industry I work in doesn't leave a lot of room for creativity, so I haven't spent too much time on the site. Having a degree in fine arts and being an artist at heart, I suppose I should jump on the Pinterest bandwagon sooner or later.

In reply to Meghan Wolff. Hi Meghan, You can follow other bloggers of your interest there and see what they are sharing. A lot of creative ideas are being shared on Pinterest, especially if you are doing something related to design.

I’m constantly looking for new blog topics for my company’s blog. I look at competitor’s websites and blogs to see what they’re writing, but I also use Google Alerts for inspiration. For instance, I work for a credit card processor, so I receive news alerts for e-commerce, Visa, and MasterCard so I can be on the forefront of hot news. I don’t use Pinterest too much, so this may sound silly, but how would you use that site to get ideas for blog posts?

Excellent tips, Jack. Personally I subscribe to different blogs and save their RSS to my Google Reader. When I look for topics to write about, I just look at all the titles and right there, you can identify the hottest topic most bloggers talk about.

Great stuff. Another great way to find blog posts idea is to look at niche social bookmarking sites like Blokube, My SEO Community etc.
