I’ve tested some low-priced full-HD projectors recently and was surprised with how good they are. When YABER launched the Ace K1 for $499, I was wondering what makes it more expensive and if it’s worth the price difference. I received the Ace K1 for this review and spent some time testing it during the last few weeks, I am totally satisfied with its performance.
Unboxing & Testing
Features & Performance
Inside the box, the YABER Ace K1 comes with the projector, a remote control, a power cord, an HDMI cable, and an AV cable. The projector doesn’t require any setup; You can just plug your laptop, game console, or TV box to the HDMI port on the back and it is ready to use. In case you want to mirror content from your iPhone, iPad or Android devices, you will need to connect the projector to your Wi-Fi network first. It supports Bluetooth 5.0 and dual-band WiFi 6, so you can stream content with almost no lag.
I place the projector 7’7″ away from the wall and it manages to create a 70-inch display. The Ace K1 is actually much more capable than that as it can project to a 150-inch screen; My room is just not big enough to get the most out of it. The auto focus and auto keystone correction work amazingly; Every time I move the projector, it adjusts the focus and keystone automatically so that I always have a clear and perfectly rectangular image on the wall. Gone are the days we have to adjust the focus and keystone rings manually.
The Ace K1 is released just in time for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, so you totally can enjoy watching football on the big screen with your friends and family. Apart from the huge screen, you will also be surprised with its super bright display. The lamp output of 650 ANSI lumens is higher than almost all projectors that I’ve ever used. It looks amazing in low-light conditions and even on a sunny day with windows open, I can still see everything clearly.
With the 1080p native resolution and 12,000:1 contrast ratio, the image is sharp and clear even when I projected to a 70-80″ screen. Moreover, the corners don’t get blurry when the screen gets bigger, so I could enjoy all details of movies or sports. The image quality still doesn’t look as good as a big-screen TV but it is getting closer and you just pay a fraction of a TV’s price. Another nice feature is the full-sealed optical engine technology that prevents dust and black spots.
Another advantage of the Ace K1 is its insane 15W stereo speakers. This is definitely the best speaker system I’ve ever found on a projector; It is loud and has some punchy bass. If you just watch the news or sports, you totally can be happy with the speakers.
The YABER Ace K1 is definitely the best full-HD projector that I’ve ever tested. It delivers a bright and clear image even on a large screen, so we can use it indoors or outdoors with no issue. The improved speaker system is another advantage. Although its listing price is $499, I’ve seen the price come down to $299 sometimes during the Black Friday shopping season. This is a great steal if you can grab it at the discounted price.
