Features & Performance
The Yeedi has a similar design and features as other budget robot vacuums on the market. Inside the box, there is just the vacuum, a charging dock, a spare filter, and a power adapter. You will just need to plug in the dock, place the robot on the dock, switch it on, and it is ready to use.
Since the robot doesn’t come with a remote control, you can only adjust its settings in the app. The app also allows you to connect the robot with Amazon Alexa for voice control. Unfortunately, it is not compatible with Google Assistant at this time. Besides, you can also use the app to change cleaning modes; This includes the Quiet mode with noise level lower than 56dB.
The K650 has a low-profile design (3.1″ high), so it could reach low-clearance space like under my couch, bed, or furniture easily. It doesn’t have a LiDAR scanner and the top surface is covered with anti-scratch tempered glass which looks quite amazing.
Although this is a budget product, it still has very impressive suction power of 2000Pa which is on par with many expensive robot vacuums on the market. I also love its large 800ml dustbin and long battery life. The maximum battery life could reach over 2 hours but it depends on your cleaning mode. If you use it at the maximum power, it could last just around 30 minutes. In my test, it has no problem cleaning my whole apartment before returning to the dock automatically.
The only limitation of the vacuum is the lack of sensors. It can detect boundary strips, stairs, and some large obstacles very well; However, it still get stuck with unruly cables and cords on the floor, bump into smaller furniture, and drag my shoes around. In my test, the robot also runs quite randomly as it doesn’t create a map of my apartment. Therefore, it still misses some parts during a cleaning session and it takes quite a while to return to the dock. It is not a good idea to use the vacuum in a large apartment with too many rooms.
Having said that, we can’t expect much from a budget robot vacuum like this. It cost just around $150 when I tested it, so I think this is still a good choice when your apartment has just a couple of rooms.
