If they close the account due to return violation policy how could I win that situation because sometimes things are refunded but never requested for everything to be refunded just what was missing or damaged

So if I use Amazon at all, it will be for Kindle books. My adverse return experience intensified a few weeks ago, when I moved house — into an affordable cape cod, albeit in definite need of repair. Getting correct sized screws, drill pieces, etc. from Amazon wasn’t happening. However, this experience brought forth a deeper longing: for the old hardware store whose proprietor knew something about hardware and home repair. Such advisors are not to be found at Home Depot or Lowes, where I’ve had customer floor people actually walk briskly away when I approached them. So it seems that Amazon ruined these businesses, which had ruined the neighborhood hardware stores. Online I notice doomscroll articles suggesting that the big box stores are all failing; Amazon describes itself as choking on returns. So now I’m seeking small, neighborly stores again, to cope with the colossal effect of the failure of hyperconsumerism. Hopefully if we stop patronizing big box stores and Amazon we’ll see a return of neighborhood service. Meanwhile, we can purchase as little as possible, to bring on and perhaps outlive the consumer crash. Here’s hoping.

two weeks ago I had three packages that were supposed to go to my neighbor delivered to my door. I took them and walked them up the street and gave them to her. now last week I had a package go missing but whoever got it didn’t bother to bring it to me! Amazon argues that their carrier says it was delivered, and maybe it was delivered. but not to me! now I get a warning letter saying that they may close my account and that they can’t guarantee delivery on third party sellers which most are, and this has really got me upset. they said they weren’t going to give me the money back for the package that didn’t get delivered. I’m 72 years old, I’m on social security, it’s all I can do to scrape out the money to buy myself something and then they’re going to keep the money? there’s a lot of changes in Amazon lately. they’ve reduced the number of ways to return things, closed the lockers I always use for returns that was just a half a mile away. and on the Amazon food side, you used to get free delivery when you had prime, but now the only way you get free delivery, whether you have prime or not, is if you buy $150 worth of food! these changes are not consumer friendly. is Jeff Bezos mad because he’s no longer the richest man in the world and Elon Musk is?

it wouldn’t turn off? that’s horror!!
Most of their Amazon Basic products are Dog S**t. i ordered an electric tire inflator of Amazon Basic. it worked well during the return window. But, Guess what, It stopped after a month. I barely used it twice. But didn’t mind to file a return or something like that.

I definitely want to join in a class action lawsuit. Amazon ripped me off numerous times, even though I’ve started taking pics of the items I’m returning while I’m actually inside UPS. Smh

I can tell you that as contract drivers, I and other drivers were not treated well. One Amazon warehouse worker would refer to us as “you guys” and made generalizations about how we performed our work. This same worker gave me two stops about 20 miles from the warehouse, with only about 30 minutes left in my shift. The problem with this is that I am responsible for the late arrivals and I don’t get paid past my end time. I worked about an extra 30 minutes for free and wasn’t compensated for this. I brought this up to “driver support” and they refused to remove the late deliveries from my account and refused to pay me for the extra 30 minutes.

Amazon has also been investigated and/or fined for various violations; examples are:

-In 2002, Amazon settled with the SEC over allegations of securities law violations
https://www.computerworld.com/article/2576498/amazon-reaches-settlement-with-sec-in-ashford-com-case.html

-In 2020, the SEC fined an Amazon Finance Manager and their family with insider trading
https://www.sec.gov/news/press-release/2020-228

-In 2021, Amazon was fined $887 million for violating data processing rules by the EU
https://www.zdnet.com/article/amazon-fined-887-million-for-gdpr-privacy-violations/

-In 2021, Amazon was fined nearly $62 million for withholding Amazon Flex driver tips; I received a settlement for this after the fact
https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/news/press-releases/2021/02/amazon-pay-617-million-settle-ftc-charges-it-withheld-some-customer-tips-amazon-flex-drivers

I have also been a loyal Amazon customer for nearly 20 years, with many of those years being a Prime customer.

As of late, this is what I have experienced as a customer:

-Damaged items
-Items that are used
-Late delivered items
-Items that are not properly packaged
-Overseas customer service agents (CSAs) who do not understand me and I cannot understand them
-CSAs who promise one thing, only to not follow through with it
-Items that they claim have been delivered to my secured residence, only to find that they have not

It’s not worth the aggravation and I will be closing my account once this month of Prime is over! I refuse to continue to support this shady company, especially after reading all of the above reviews.

I am from Ukraine and had opened my Amazon account 10 years ago before decided bought on amazon.
So in february 2023I bought on Amazon near 23 items near 500 USD.
And… i got amazon ban. Your account have been closed for misuse.
I wrote a lot on Amazon and every time i recieved letter that my refund from Amazon.de was extraordinary. Amazon.de wrote me that Yes, i never bought there and I got ban only from Amazon.com.
So i think it very strange. But their final decision was close my account forever.

You’re better off. They get worse and worse each time. I’m thinking of canceling too as I’ve started ordering more things off different sites. It’s just not worth the hassle of dealing with them.

I’m so tired of having to return used items. It never used to be this bad in the past but I’m consistently getting used shoes, jewelry, clothes and it’s just unacceptable when you’re paying full price for new items. And they are so guilty of sending used hygiene items so I never buy hygiene items from them. I just ordered a “new” band for my Apple Watch and the item was clearly stretched and used by someone else. It was warped in the case because someone had stretched it so much. How is that on me? I don’t even bother contacting their customer service because they outsource and you don’t get anywhere. The last time I did that the lady cancelled a return I already had in process and I didn’t see my refund for 3 months! Plus they deducted a restocking fee. It’s really crazy.
