As its name suggests, the Ecolor lamp has a shape of an egg or a football. Inside the box, there are just the lamp, a USB charging cable, and a lanyard. Since this is a portable lamp, you can easily carry it around your house or during your camping trips.
There is only one button on the body of the lamp. You can long press it to power on/off, or press it to change lighting effects. You can also find a charging port and a microphone hole in the white area in the middle of this lamp. The built-in rechargeable battery is also located here and if you use the lamp at maximum brightness, the battery could last up to 4 hours. If you use it at a dimmer brightness, it could last up to 24 hours. For normal usage, you can expect the battery life of about 6-8 hours.
Since this is a portable lamp, it is very important that the design must be rugged enough. This Ecolor features IP65 rating which means it is protected against low pressure water jets and dust tight. It is durable enough so that you can give it to your kids to play.
Lighting is still the most important aspect of a lamp. I tested this lamp during a family camp and my kids were so impressed with the lighting that they play with the lamp a whole night. Unlike some products on the market, the Ecolor features 42 built-in lamp beads and each has an independent control chip. That means each lamp bead can display a different color, so the whole lamp can offer numerous lighting effects.
To get the most out of the product, you should install the Ecolor Life app and connect it to the lamp via Bluetooth. You will be able to choose a color for the lamp and apply a gorgeous lighting effect. There are dozens of preset effects and some of them are outstanding; I really love the rainbow, dream, and starry sky effects.
