People must be enjoying the best period of the year as all manufacturers are releasing their greatest products for the final shopping season. Today we are bringing very good news about the next generation of Asus Eee Pad Transformer, the best Android tablet of 2011.
The Eee Pad Transformer Prime was found being listed on LambdaTek Component Shop, an online UK retailer, and it appears that the new tablet will start shipping on November 7th. The device is codenamed with the model number TF201-1I020A and is up for pre-order with the price tag of £537.85 (about $849) including VAT. We can’t find out many details on this page, even an image hasn’t been available yet.
However, some tech specs have been leaked via the title. The Transformer Prime will be powered by an 1.5 Ghz quad-core Tegra 3 processor from NVIDIA, 1GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a 10.1-inch display and Android 3 Honeycomb (probably Android 3.2). By this schedule, the Transformer Prime should come with the newest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, which is compatible with both smartphones and tablets, I hope Asus will update the OS on this device soon. In terms of tech specs, this will be the best one on the market with the quad core processor, it is expected to help Transformer Prime perform at least 2x times better than the current dual core processors.
We haven’t got any picture of the tablet yet, the only description is “Gold” in the caption, maybe this just referred to the amber shade on Transformer Prime. One more thing we can know for sure is the attachable keypad dock, hopefully it will come with extra battery power and other ports.
There is only one problem that the price tag here seems too high. It is maybe understandable because UK prices for electronic gadgets are always higher than the rest of the world. So we can expect the price in US will come down a little. There is one more reason we could believe in an affordable price, Asus CEO Jerry Shen recently said that the Transformer Prime will launch at the end of the year for just $499. Keep fingers crossed for the launch on November 7th.
