There are numerous choices when it comes to true wireless earbuds with prices ranging from just $20 to over $300. It is very difficult to pick suitable earbuds for everyone because people have different tastes in sound and design. The EKSA GT1 Cobra tries to balance everything while keeping the price affordable at around $49. Sometimes I even see the price drop as low as $34.

The box contents include just the earbuds inside a charging case, a USB-C charging cable, and 2 more pairs of eartips. The default eartips fit my ears perfectly, so I don’t need to change them. The EKSA GT1 is among a few in-ear headphones that could fit my ears snuggly; The other ones are expensive Apple AirPods Pro. That means I could walk around without worrying they will fall out. Even when I go running, the earbuds still say securely in the outer conch. The IPX4 water-resistant body makes the GT1 good earbuds for working out.
Despite being budget in-ear headphones, the EKSA GT1 features a cool design with LED lighting effects on the earbuds and the charging case. Once you take the earbuds out of the case, they will turn on automatically and all the lights will bright up, which look really cool. My only complaint with the design is that the charging case is a bit difficult to open; I often need to use my fingernail to open the top.
The GT1 features a cobra head design crafted for gaming and listening to music. The most prominent feature is 38ms ultra-low latency for smoother gaming experience. You might not see the difference when listening to music or watching movies, however, the latency is quite impressive in the world of wireless headphones. This is not lag-free experience but most casual gamers will be satisfied with the performance. If you are a pro gamer, you should still opt for wired headphones to reduce the latency further.
There are no buttons on the earbuds and you can use touch controls instead. For instance, you can switch between the Game mode and Music mode by pressing any earbud for 2 seconds, tap once to play/pausel, or tap twice to skip tracks. When receiving incoming phone calls, you can tap once to answer or double tap to reject.
In terms of battery life, the earbuds can last more than 5 hours of continuous playback. The total battery time could reach 36 hours with the charging case.
Audio Quality
I often set my expectation very low when testing budget headphones like these. However, the EKSA GT1 really surprised me with its sonic characteristics. The earbuds deliver a warm, rich, and entertaining sound with a lot of bass. I am not a fan of the boosted bass but I can’t deny it sounds really fun when watching movies or playing games.
The sound is a little fatiguing when listening to music because of the overwhelming bass, especially if you have a habit of using them continuously for hours. The bass is also not really tight and punchy as some other headphones. Having said that, the whole sound is not muddy as many cheaper headphones on the market. They even sound better than regular Apple AirPods. I really love the clear mids and well extended treble. The soundstage is also amazing for such tiny earbuds.
All in all, the EKSA GT1 is an easy recommendation from TechWalls. They are not the best sounding headphones but the price is unbeatable for their offerings.
