I was thinking that the Chinese version had a better dual SIM function. Is this true? To what degree? How do I get a Chinese one? Are there other problems I would get that way (hmmm, instructions in cantonese….)

I live in the US but I will be going to Romania to visit a friend. They have wanted a iPhone for years but cannot afford it. I wanted to buy the new iPhone SE as a gift for them. I would buy it here in the US and bring it with me to Romania. I just learned of the different models…A2275 in the US and A2296 Global model. I am concerned that if I buy the US model they will have problems with the phone in Romania. I spoke with Apple and they said the A2275 US model, sim-free, purchased in the US will absolutely work fine in Europe/Romania. They said once their SIM card in and set the phone up they won’t be able to tell the difference. Thoughts? If it helps I believe they use Vodafone.

In reply to Fred. 2296 does not have CDMA frequencies. Basically it will work fine with GSM carriers, but not with CDMA ones (Verizon and sprint if im not wrong).
