Features & Performance
The TONOR TC-777 has a price tag of just $35 at this time, it is way cheaper than my other microphones from Beyerdynamic, Shure, or Audio-Technica. Moreover, the set even includes all essential accessories like a tripod stand, a shock mount, a pop filter, and a windscreen. That means you don’t have to pay for anything else after buying this microphone set. If you buy those accessories separately, they would cost around $20-$30 already. It is very difficult to find a better set at such a low price.
The microphone is made of plastic with metal grille on top; There is no button or any other control on the body. It is pretty easy to set up as I don’t need to install any driver or software; Just plug the USB cable directly to my Macbook and it is ready to use instantly. The microphone has a cardioid pickup pattern, so it captures the sound in the front better. This is helpful for most of us because we often speak directly to the microphone, so our voice is clearer while background noises like keyboard or mouse clicks become more silent.
It is notable that this is a condenser microphone which is quite sensitive. It is good for recording delicate sounds but there is also a buzzing sound in the background. The noise floor is more noticeable when you turn up the volume but it can also be easily solved with noise-reducing tools. The TONOR is good enough for many purposes and it is almost impossible to tell the differences between this one and more expensive microphones like Blue Snowball. Notice that it is not sensitive enough if you want to record voice or instruments from a distance.
Conclusion
Pros
- Low price
- Essential accessories are included
- Good build quality
- Good sound quality
Cons
- Not sensitive enough to record music performance
Overall, the TONOR TC-777 is a great value for anyone who wants to improve audio quality. It sounds much better than the built-in microphone of my laptop or headphones and as good as some expensive microphones on the market. We highly recommend the product. It can be purchased on Amazon or Tonormic website.
