Features & Performance
Inside the box, the headset comes with just a carrying case and a charging cable. You can turn it on, connect it to your smartphone via Bluetooth, and start using immediately. The most prominent feature of the EKSA H1 is Bluetooth 5.0 connection with operating range up to 99ft (or even longer if there is no obstacle).
Unlike headphones that we use every day, the EKSA H1 is a single-ear headset with an earcup on only 1 side. On the other side, there is just a rubber pad leaning on your head, instead of covering your ear. The design is reversible with a rotatable microphone, so you can wear the earcup on either your left or right ear.
The headset is designed for truckers, call centers, construction sites or warehouses where you need to connect to your phone while still having to hear what is going on around you. For instance, truckers often have to communicate with other team members, listen to radio/music, or follow voice directions on Google Maps. They are not allowed to use their phone while driving their vehicles, so the safest way is to use a wireless headset like this. The EKSA H1 is lightweight and comfortable enough to wear for a whole day.
It is powered by a 500mAh battery which could last up to 30 hours of talk time. That means you can use them continuously for a couple of days without recharging. Another huge benefit is the noise-cancelling microphone. I used the microphone on the street and was quite impressed with its performance; It managed to get rid of the background noise like the wind or engine noise. The sound is slightly distorted but it is still clean and clear; The person on the other end might even think you are talking in your room.
The EKSA H1 works well during my test and many people would find it useful. If you work in a loud environment and want a better noise isolation, you might want to pick a dual-ear headset instead. The H1 is available for $49.99 on its website and $79.99 on Amazon, however, you can clip a $20 coupon and use code XXQ39KE7 to save extra 15%.
