The Dyson Gen5detect vacuum cleaner maintains a similar form factor to its predecessors with some noticeable changes. This adjustment happens instantaneously and works impeccably even when transitioning between high and low-traffic areas in a house. I have used the Dyson as the primary vacuum in my house and it manages to remove almost all debris on hardwood, low carpet, and high carpet, beating the average cleaning performance across all vacuums I’ve ever used.
Room for Improvement

One major drawback as mentioned earlier is that I almost do not use the laser cleaning head; It is a waste of money because many people buy this vacuum just for that feature. If you only need to clean hard floor, you might find it much more useful.
In addition, the additional weight from the integrated tools and larger battery pack makes the device top-heavy, potentially straining users’ arms. This is not a big problem when cleaning the floor, but you can feel the extra weight when the stick is detached for use in handheld mode. Specifically, the Gen5detect weighs 7.6 lbs as compared to Dyson V15 Detect’s 6.8 lbs.
Battery Life
Battery life is a crucial factor in cordless vacuums.The device now features a slimmer, longer battery pack which offers up to 70 minutes of runtime, which is an improvement from the 60-minute runtime of the previous three generations of V-series vacuums. Runtime can vary depending on the suction mode and level of dirt on the floor and the LCD screen provides real-time updates on the remaining battery life, allowing users to plan their cleaning accordingly. I only use the vacuum in Auto mode and the battery life ranges from 40-50 minutes.
