The transition to a smart home is not easy when we still have a lot of old devices throughout our house. Of course, you can use smart plugs for some devices but some require you to actually push a button to power it on/off. The SwitchBot Bot does exactly what we need in this scenario and it could be helpful for many consumers. Let’s check it out.

Features & Performance
The SwitchBot has a compact design and it is super easy to set up. It has a 3M adhesive on the back and you will just need to place it next to any switch or button. It comes with add-on sticker so that you can use it with rocker switch as well; The arm can push or pull a switch after you stick the add-on sticker to the switch.
Setting up the SwitchBot is quite straightforward; I just installed the SwitchBot app and started pairing it with my phone via Bluetooth. If you only have the button pusher, you will need to open the app every time you want to use it and press on the device to activate it. That is obviously not a useful scenario because pressing the button myself can be faster.
To really make this a smart button pusher, an extra SwitchBot Hub Plus/Mini is required. Then, you will be able to add it to your smart home ecosystem as it supports Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Siri, and IFTTT. We can control the device with voice commands, and set up schedule or automation easily. For instance, I can set it up to open the garage door automatically when I come home.
Overall, I’m quite satisfied with the performance of the SwitchBot button pusher. It is a simple and inexpensive solution to upgrade our old electronic devices. I’m also impressed with its battery life as it could reach up to 600 days with a single CR2 battery.
