Xiaomi is my favorite brand in the world of budget tech; It is also the primary shareholder of many smaller brands and Viomi is one of them. Viomi products are actually in the Xiaomi’s ecosystem and you can find many affordable home appliances like robot vacuums, cordless vacuums, water purifiers, water dispenser etc. In this post, we are checking out the new Viomi V3 Max robot vacuum.
The vacuum has an original price tag of $499.99 but if you buy it on Amazon US during the promo period, you will just need to pay $359.99. The price is valid from August 26th to September 26th.
Since this is a robot vacuum and mop, it has 3 cleaning modes which are sweep only, mop only, and sweep-mop. It features a 2-in-1 400ml dust bin and 200ml water tank, so it can vacuum and mop at the same time. The water tank is good enough to clean an up-to-700 sq ft apartments, but if you have a larger house, you can purchase the 700ml water tank to mop a floor of up to 2,000 sq ft in one session. Of course, you can only use it in mop-only mode when attaching this larger water tank.
The Viomi features an ultra-precise peristaltic pump which is tested for over 1,500 hours of use. It also comes with soft and hard fiber stripped mops to help you deal with stubborn stains. Besides, I love that the dust bin can be emptied easily with a single click of a button.
Since the Viomi V3 Max is in the Xiaomi’s ecosystem, you can use the Mi Home app to get access to more advanced control and settings. You will be able to schedule cleaning, set up virtual walls, no-go zones, clean a specific room, as well as view the whole map of your floor. The app can store up to 5 floors in your house. After setting up with the Mi Home app, you can add it to Google Home or Amazon Alexa to use voice commands with this robot.
In terms of navigation, the Viomi is as good as any other robot with LiDAR-based SLAM system. It does a good job in detecting the environment and learn the layout of your home. Besides, it is equipped with some more sensors like infrared-sensor and drop-sensing tech to avoid obstacles and prevent falls.
The robot’s suction is quite powerful at 2,700Pa but you probably don’t need to run it at the maximum power. The standard mode is good enough for most of us, especially when you clean your floor regularly. Its operation is fairly quiet with noise level of 57dB in quiet mode. This won’t affect your baby’s sleep because the noise is just equivalent to an operating microwave and slightly louder than moderate rainfall. You can enable the Auto Boost mode to boost the suction power automatically when cleaning carpets. Therefore, the robot will thoroughly remove dust, dirt, water stains, crumbs, or pet hair on different floor types. The 5,200mAh battery can last up to 5 hours in silent mode, that means it can clean up to 3,000 sq ft areas without returning to the dock for recharging.
